This is Risi, my owners first dog.
He was adopted by my owners via a foundation called "Stichting pup in nood".
Untill he arrived at my owners home, Risi had a very difficult life in Romania.
At a young age he was meant to guard his owners property, and NOTHING ELSE but that.
No joy, no happiness .... no love at all.
If he was lucky he got something to eat and if he wasn't, he probably didn't ate for days.
He was beaten and abused by the owners, and when he stopped guarding the property
they abandoned him, kicked him on the streets where he had to survive and take care of himself.
The local dognapper cought him and brought him to a shelter a few days later.
Before he arrived he was even more beaten, kicked and even worse! During all this violation he probably lost his tail.
In the shelter he lived together with a couple of hunderd other dogs, without decent supervision.
There he was on his own again ......
Surviving in the shelter was hard. The dogs in the shelter had to fight for the little food that was available.
The people from the foundation took those dogs from the shelter that could be rescued and could get a better life elsewhere.
Between the shelter in Romania and his arrival in the Netherland, Risi had a lot of "homes".
Several foster-families, a shelter here and there .... on his own again ....
Long story short ....
My owners planned to get a dog, and decided to get an 'older' one.
Once seen the pictures, Linda was in love with him.
They went to the shelter he was living at that time and from the first moment there was that 'chemistry'!!
They discussed if they should adopt him, but they already made their choice with their hearts .....
From that moment on, Risi had a REAL home ... at last!!
The horrors happened in Romania left some serious scars. Beside his tail, Risi also lost his trust and faith in humanity.
My owners spend over 2 years of their life's on educating, re-socialising, training and most of all LOVING him to win some trust and faith back. It took a lot of time, patience, energy, tears and even some blood.
My owners didn't gave up on him, and finally all their effort paid off...
Over time, Risi became a well behaved, sweet dog that loved to cuddle, fool around, and most important ...
he found back his trust and faith in humanity!
Other dogs were a problem every now and then, but that didn't bother them.
Sadly Risi had an uncurable disease that affected his life that much, my owners had to make the hard decision to take him out of his misery. He had suffered enough ........
